Ncn’ean is offering two women free distillery internships at its distillery in the Scottish Highlands.
This comes as an attempt to encourage more women to enter what is often considered a male dominated industry.
The experience aims to raise the profile of distilling and challenge any gender-based stigmas associated with the whisky industry.
The distillery internships will showcase every area of creating Ncn’ean’s whiskey, including mashing, distilling and maturation to making cocktails.
It will take place from the 15th – 20th July 2019 and accommodation, travel and food over the course of the week will all be covered.
If you would like to apply you have to be aged over 18 and available to travel to Scotland from the 14th – 20th of July.
As well as that, the successful applicants will have the chance to sample the still- maturing whisky which is due for release next year.
The founder of Ncn’ean, Annabel Thomas, said: “I wanted to challenge the outdated views a lot of people still have.
“The number of times people ask me ‘do you actually like whisky?’ just because I am a women.
And the lack of gender balance in the industry in Scotland suggests we all still have more work to do.”
